BSL-2 Training Information

  • BL-2 training covers work practices, safety equipment, and facility requirements used to work safely at biosafety levels one and two, including proper use of biological safety cabinets. Incident response and emergency spill protocols are also reviewed.

Initial In-Class Training
If you have never had BL-2 training, the first session MUST be in the classroom setting. It will be held in the General Services Complex, the specific room is listed by each date, unless otherwise noted. Please bring your UIN to the session to receive credit.

Online Refresher Training

Research staff who are listed on an IBC permit requiring BL-2 refresher training will automatically receive an email notification, starting 6 weeks before their training expiration date, directing them to complete their online training through TrainTraq.
